  • Student ID
  • Change or a phone to call home when finished
  • Lunch or a snack and a drink in a closed container
  • A book

PSAT Test to be Offered on Wednesday, October 15, 2008

Dear Students and Parents,

Julian Charter School is happy to announce that we will again be offering the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT) to our students in grades 9 - 11.

The PSAT is the Pre-test for the SAT as well as the measurement used to qualify 11th graders for the National Merit Scholarship Program. The Nation Merit Scholarship Program offers awards of up to $15, 000, per year to top performing students. The PSAT is highly recommended for any student planning on applying to a four-year university. Additional information may be found on www.collegeboard.com.

Although the PSAT is open to all students in grades 9 - 11, please be advised that most 9th grade curriculum does not cover the material on the PSAT. However, 9th grade student may opt to take the test as a measure of the student’s strengths and weaknesses.

We have arranged for additional testing sites to accommodate students wishing to take the PSAT, but please be advised that there may be limited seating at certain sites and that priority will be given to 11th graders. You may pay for the test on the day of the test; but it is highly recommend that you reserve and secure your seat early by sending in your payment.
