Mission

Julian Charter School's mission is to provide an exemplary personalized learning program in a supportive, resource-rich learning environment.

We are dedicated to excellence and committed to nurturing passionate lifelong learners.

Philosophy

While your child is of school age, you will make many choices that will mold your child's future. Julian Charter School's programs are designed to be flexible enough to work with your dreams and at the same time expose you and your child, kindergarten through high schooler, to a wide variety of educational methods, materials and opportunities

At Julian Charter School, families and students meet at least once every 20 school days with their own Educational Facilitator. The Educational Facilitator (EF) is a fully credentialed teacher who meets you at a location near you. At the meetings you share ideas and needs, learn about state requirements and standards, receive information about school events, and are notified of site-based classes and vendor courses. Your facilitator helps you become aware of the many possibilities of home-based education and ensures you have support when you need it.

Part of each meeting is spent developing a plan for the following month, while part of it is used to discuss and evaluate your child's performance. Once sample of work from each subject is collected at the meeting. Work samples include traditional written work, drawings, photo journals, or videotaped performances. In between meetings, your EF is available via e-mail and phone.
