Curriculum Team Blogs
The intent of the blog is to help inspire and expand what you are already doing in your language arts program. Each week this site will feature a fun new activity or project which helps to message or grasp content across the curriculum. Most of what we do in our home-school world utilizes a language arts tool, whether it is reading, writing, understanding vocabulary or spelling a word correctly.
This makes mastery of Language Arts vital. If you are a good reader and writer, success can be yours in school, granted you are motivated. These activities help to build motivation, while sharpening your language arts tools.
About this blog: My name is Dessa and I am currently the social studies curriculum specialist for the JCS K-8 program. I look forward to building this blog for all parents and teachers to use as a tool to enrich and enliven your social studies programs. I want this to be a friendly place where we can all come together to share with each other what we are doing at home to make history come ALIVE. Make sure to read the first post from Karin Knutson who describes a very meaningful and rich experience she put together for her children and then let me know what you would like to share on this blog.
