The next time you shop amazon.com, please go to www.juliancharterschool.org website first. From there you click the link on the right that says:
That’s it. It will take you right to Amazon.com and when you buy something, the school will get up to 7% back. This might not sound like much, but if we all do it, it will add up fast.

Fall 2010 Fundraising at Julian Charter School
September 27, 2010
At our meeting last week, we were told about some ways that staff, students, and parents can get involved and help out JCS. As you are probably aware, every school has fundraisers and JCS is no exception. The only difference is that I am very excited about the fundraisers we are doing. Personally, I am tired of the Pizza, Candy, popcorn, and gift wrap sales. There are a couple ways you can help that will not cost you a cent. Here are the fundraising possibilities you can partake in:
SMARTCARD
Wow! This is a winner! The card costs $30, and JCS gets $15 back. For those who have not heard of Smartcard, I use it almost daily. I have personally used mine to get “Buy one get one Free” from Jamba Juice, $5 off of Islands Restaurant, 10 % off of PF Changs, Red Brick Pizza, Buy one entre get one 50% off of Macaroni Grill, Cosi, Yogurt Island, Panda Express, and I can go on and on. I also received $60 off a Home Depot bill when I had to replace my water heater this summer. If you don’t live in Riverside County this card is still a great buy for Disneyland, Knotts, Padres and movie tickets and much more. I could go on, and on, but I can also say, this is a card I will renew every year! The other great part is, if you sell even just 1 card (your own) you get other special coupons and discounts. The card is good for one year, and even if you just bought one, you can actually buy this one and have them add a year to your subscription. Go the website, www.shopsmartcard.com , and look around at the services they offer. You will not be disappointed.
Amazon.com Fundraiser
Here is one that will not cost you a cent, but will really help our school. Many of us use Amazon.com. I know I do more and more all the time. Personally, I would rather do my shopping online than to find the time to go out. Next time you shop amazon.com, please go to www.juliancharterschool.org website first. From there you click the link on the right that says:
That’s it. It will take you right to Amazon.com and when you buy something, the school will get 7% back. This might not sound like much, but if we all do it, it will add up fast.
Box Tops
That’s right! All you have to do is remember to tear or cut off the Box Tops from boxes that use Box Tops and bring them into the office or to me and I will get them to the office. If you are going to spend the money anyway, take the time to tear it off and bring it in to our meeting. If we all do it, it will really add up. I’ve attached a form to put them on.
Fresh & Easy receipt collection
This is exciting- All you have to do is bring in receipts from the Fresh & Easy on the corner of Margarita and DePortola in Temecula, and for every receipt that is at least $20, JCS will receive $1. Again, just bring them into the office or to our meetings. This fundraiser is only from Sept 15 through December 31 so get shopping. If you are like me (not shy), you can even ask the person in front of you if they need their receipt. If it is $20 or more, then that is another $1 for JCS. Just think- If we all bring in 5 receipts between now and December 31, that would $10,000 to help our school.
The Don’t Bug Me Fundraiser
Honestly, in some instances I love this idea. For example, when my kids are on a baseball or soccer team, I would much rather just give $25 instead of buying 50 candy bars that I would probably end up eating myself. As well as I know that 100% of the proceeds goes to the students! All you need to do is write a check to JCS in the memo write FUNDRAISER and mail it up to our office at PO Box 2470, Julian, CA 92036.
In short, please support your school. The monies raised will help in so many areas, from curriculum to fieldtrips. Every penny will go right back to the students in some way. JCS thanks you all in advance for your kind support!
If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me.
