April 2010 STAR Testing
STAR testing begins the week of April 19. This is a great opportunity for your child to spend time with friends and show the school all the wonderful things he/she has learned this year.
The STAR test will be administered at various locations throughout our counties. If your child is not an Academy student, then please be sure to check with your EF to find out which location your student is registered to test at. Note that days and times may vary dependent on location.
Parents should plan to arrive at the testing site at least 15 minutes before testing is due to begin. At that time, sign your younger children in (older students can sign themselves in) and leave a contact number where you can be reached.
At the conclusion of each day’s testing, plan to pick up your child promptly when testing is completed. Please make sure that you sign your child out for the day with the site lead or proctor.
It’s important for your child to get a good night’s sleep prior to testing and to eat a healthy breakfast or lunch each day. Please provide a nutritious snack daily in case he/she gets hungry. Should your child forget to bring a snack, a peanut free “back-up” snack will be provided the first two days of testing. In addition, please have your child bring a drink in a closed container and a book to read as he/she finishes a test.
All students are expected to wear appropriate clothing that covers their body and adheres to the JCS dress code. Please see your parent handbook for detailed dress code information.
Visit this link for a larger map with detailed information on each location and the ability to map directions from your home or select the flyer below for the location your student will be testing at. If your home study student will be testing at an academy location (please verify with your EF), then you will need to contact that Academy as their testing schedule may be different.
