STAR Test
Every spring students at Julian Charter School in grades two through eleven participate in the Standardized Testing and Reporting (STAR) Program. STAR was designed as an assessment tool to measure student’s knowledge and skills that are identified in the in California content standards. The STAR assesses knowledge in English-language arts, mathematics, history-social studies and science.
The data collected from STAR is used to determine academic achievement of California’s students and helps educators to evaluate their educational practices as well as see a more complete picture of their students. All students are encouraged and needed to participate in STAR testing to help provide our school with the most complete information possible.
When does STAR testing take place?
STAR testing at Julian Charter School takes place in April and May over a two-week period. During STAR testing students will be expected to attend their testing site daily until their tests are completed. Testing typically runs from 9:00 AM to 12:30 PM, however, library sites may run on a different schedule. Testing for most students will be completed within 3 to 4 days.
