STAR Test
During the months of March and April, students in public schools all over California participate in the Standardized Testing and Reporting (STAR) Program. All students in grades 2 through 11 are required to participate in the STAR tests.
Results of these tests help schools monitor student achievement and provide useful information that enables us to provide better guidance and support. The STAR results are used by the State to calculate the Academic Performance Index (API) that determines whether schools are improving. The State and Federal (No Child Left Behind) government mandate that schools must have at least 95% of their students participate in STAR testing. Participation rates that fall below this level can compromise the status of the school.
The Julian Charter School coordinator for the STAR Program is Tammy Condron
