JCS Academy San Diego

The San Diego Academy is one of the many great personalized learning options offered by Julian Charter School for students in grades 6-12. Based on the college model, the San Diego Academy is designed for students that would benefit from site based instruction in core and elective subjects 2-3 days a week. The Academy is ideal for parents and students who desire increased academic support and accountability, while enjoying some of the flexibility of the homeschool program. Students are required to take a minimum of four (4) courses to be a full time Academy student. Home study students may take up to two (2) classes at the Academy (space permitting).

The San Diego Academy’s small classroom size (no more then 25 students to a class) allows for the individualized attention students need to achieve high levels of academic success. Though a small school in size, we are still able to offer some of the great opportunities of larger public schools such as: A Prom and seasonal dances with other JCS academies; Field Trips; great electives (Guitar, Studio Art, Art Appreciation; Piano); Tutoring; Clubs; Yearbooks and more! The San Diego Academy also offers an excellent coed sports program with Flag Football, Volleyball, Basketball, and Soccer seasons. Leagues are grades 6-8 and grades 9-12. We compete against other JCS Academies in a friendly intramural athletic league. All JCS students are welcome to participate!
