San Diego County-JCS Academy Alpine

The JCS Alpine Academy is beginning an exciting third year in Alpine. As the first public high school program in Alpine, we offer a unique academic opportunity for grades 9 through 12. The philosophy at Alpine Academy is that we want all students in our area to have an opportunity to succeed in our school.  Thus, our program consists of both College Prep and Regular/Community College Prep tracks.

Depending on their grade level and ability, students attend our academy for classroom instruction on either Monday and Wednesday or Tuesday and Thursday. Attendance on these days is from 8:00 a.m. to 3:10 p.m.  Friday is our elective day, and boy do we have a variety of electives! If you like sports, this fall we offer Flag Football, Basketball, Fencing, Golf, Ballroom Dance, and Cheer Squad. Soccer is offered in the spring. Our foreign languages consist of Spanish I, Spanish II, German I and German II. We have a huge Visual and Performing Arts emphasis at Alpine Academy including: Art, Art Appreciation, Drama, Film Production, Improvisation, Music Appreciation, Beginning Piano, Photography/Journalism, and Radio Broadcasting.  Other electives include: Auto Shop, Creative Writing, and Home Economics.  Of course, we offer these classes based on student interest.

At Alpine Academy, we want to create school memories for our students.  Our academic program is supplemented by extracurricular activities such as Spirit Week, movie nights, boys/dads and girls/moms nights out, a winter dance, Junior/Senior Prom, community activities, field trips, around the world luncheons, a Halloween costume ball, and a winter talent night.
