San Diego County-JCS Academy Alpine
The JCS Alpine Academy is in its fifth year in Alpine. As the first public high school program in Alpine, we offer a unique academic opportunity for grades 9 through 12. The philosophy at JCS-Alpine Academy is that we want all students in our area to have an opportunity to succeed in high school. Thus, while our program consists of a College Prep track, a cornerstone of the JCS philosophy is individualized student learning.
Depending upon grade level and ability, students attend our Academy for classroom instruction either on Mondays and Wednesdays or on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Attendance on these days is from 8:30 a.m. to 3:40 p.m. Certain electives are offerred on Fridays.
In fall we offer Flag Football and Fencing; Soccer is offered in the spring. Our foreign languages consist of Spanish I, Spanish II, German I/II, and American Sign Language. We have a strong Visual and Performing Arts emphasis at JCS-Alpine Academy including: Art, Choir, Drama and Guitar. Other elective offerings include Internship, ASB/Leadership, Psychology, World Geography, and Photo Journalism.
At Alpine Academy, we want to create school memories for our students. Our academic program is supplemented by extracurricular activities such as events planned by our Associated Student Body, Junior/Senior Prom, intramural sports, Fencing, Garden Club, Refugee Tutoring Club, Surf Club, and other activities.
Enroll now for our fall semester (limited space). JCS-Alpine Academy is located at 1832 Alpine Boulevard – just off of Highway 8 at Tavern Road.
