Pine Valley Academy Accepting Applications for 2008-2009

The JCS Pine Valley Academy is now accepting applications for the coming school year. This JCS Academy Program offers an exciting option for families who desire an alternative to the traditional classroom, without the full responsibility of home schooling.

Please join us for an informational meeting at the Academy, 28825 Old Hwy 80, Pine Valley. Thursday, July 31@ 6:00 p.m.

We are pleased to announce that JCS will be starting a gardening class at the San Diego Learning Center. To help us get things going we are asking everyone to please donate any potted plants, vegetables, fruits, etc. that you have for an upcoming fundraiser. We are also accepting any gardening related supplies or cash donations. The PLANT SALE (fundraiser) is scheduled for Friday, September 5th.  This means we need your donations as soon as possible.

Please join us in Pine Valley, Saturday, July 26, from 10a.m. until 2p.m..  The parade begins at 9a.m., with the famous Oscar Meyer Wiener mobile.  After the parade you can venture over to the Pine Valley Park for craft  booths, food, and entertainment.  Pine Valley Academy will have a booth with Verizon Wireless in front of our school located at 28876 Old Highway 80 (behind Major's Restaurant.)  We will have promotional items, JCS information, and balloons for the kids.

Fall 2008 Enrollment Information

We are currently enrolling students for Fall 2008 in the following areas:

• San Diego County - San Diego County Home Study and Independent Study programs in K-8 and high school currently have openings.  San Diego County Academies currently have openings and you may contact the academies directly for enrollment information.
  

• Riverside County -
  Riverside County Home Study and Independent Study programs in K-8 and high school currently have a waiting list. Please contact the Admissions Counselor if you would like to be placed on a waiting list.
  
  If you are interested in the Riverside County Academy programs, then please contact them directly for enrollment information. The Murrieta Middle School Academy, Murrieta High School Academy as well as the Innovation Center currently have a wait list. Please contact the academy of your choice to be placed on the wait list.

• Orange County (K-8 only)
  
  There are currently no openings available in Orange County. Please contact the Admissions Counselor if you would like to be placed on a waiting list.

Please note that call volume may be high but your call is very important to us.  Your call will be returned as soon as possible and in the order it was received.

All Academy programs manage their own enrollment and wait lists for Fall 2008.  Please contact the Academy program of your choice directly for more information or to request enrollment for an Academy program.  Academy contact information can be located on our main page under Academies & Learning Centers or in the Contact Us section.

Below you will find the long anticipated Fall schedule of classes for the Murrieta Annex. Because JCS is starting the middle school academy and spaces are limited, we are slowing adding a few middles school classes to our schedule. If more are needed, we will consider that in the fall. The green highlighted classes are the middle school classes. They are longer in length, so please note the individual times. Sixth graders have 2 options for science: (1) They can choose to take Science 2 U in the grades 4-6 classes or, (2) they can take Life Science with seventh graders.

We would like to congratulate our 2007-2008 certificated and classified staff members of the year. Recipients of the awards were nominated by their peers for their dedication to serving staff and students.

Our classified staff member of the year is Linda Flint. Linda manages accounts payable at the JCS main office in Julian. Our certificated staff member of the year is Doug Thompson, a Riverside County high school educational facilitator.
