Graduation Ceremony Information for Seniors

Dear Graduates, Parents and Guardians:

Congratulations on a successful school year. It is hard to believe the graduation ceremony is less than three weeks away. We are very proud of our students and all of the hard work that has brought them to this point. Below are some updates you need to know prior to the ceremony. Please pay close attention so that you are well prepared for this auspicious day.

Venue Policies:

  • California Center for the Arts does not allow balloons, noise makers or posters in the facility. Any guest bringing such items will not be allowed in the facility with them, and will be asked to leave if they are found inside with them.
  • Guest may bring only bottled water into the facility. Concessions will be open for additional refreshments.
  • Guest will be seated 45 minutes prior to the ceremony.
  • Guests causing a disturbance will be escorted from the facility by security.
  • Camera and video recorders are allowed, however tripods are not allowed.
  • Parking is free and there is ample parking on the north end of the facility.
  • For guests needing assistance there is a drop off and pick-up location off of Escondido Blvd.

Ceremony:

  • The ceremony begins at 4:00 pm.
  • Graduates need to arrive by 2:45 pm.
  • If you plan on having cap and gown photos taken please arrive between 1:00 pm and 2:15 pm.
  • Graduates will need to register upon arrival. The registration table will be in the courtyard of the facility.
  • Once registered graduates will be asked to remain in the courtyard.
  • A group photo will be taken prior to the ceremony.
  • Prior to the ceremony graduates will be addressed regarding the behavior expected of them, as well as a quick run through of the ceremony.

Tickets:

Considering the size of the facility and the number of graduation participants, it is determined that tickets will not be needed to enter the facility. Ushers will, however, be counting guests as they enter the facility. Please be considerate to all participating and limit your number of guests to 15.

Please remember:

  • All JCS rules of discipline and behavior will be enforced.
  • The zero tolerance policy for drugs and alcohol will be enforced. Any graduate or attendee found to be under the influence will be asked to leave.
  • Graduation attendees, guests and families are expected to conduct themselves in a polite and appropriate manner that reflects the importance of the occasion and respect for one another.

She will share the  importance of teaching and encouraging our children in making responsible food choices and living healthy, balanced lives. Come learn ways to promote fun “Family Time” in the kitchen. Kay will demonstration the preparation of Healthy Chicken Salad.

May 2010 California High School Exit Exam (CAHSEE) Information

May 3, 2010

All 10th grade students who did not take one or both parts of the exam in February must take the May administration. 11th and 12th graders who have not past one or both parts should take the test in May. Please note that all students must pass the CAHSEE to graduate from high school.

ENGLISH/LA: TUESDAY, MAY 11, 2010
MATH: WEDNESDAY, MAY 12, 2010

Time: 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM each day
Test is not timed

ITEMS TO BRING TO THE EXAM:

  • Student ID
  • Change or a phone to call home when finished
  • Lunch or a snack and a drink in a closed container
  • A book

JCS Soccer Review - Week 3

May 3, 2010

Middle School

This week the undefeated San Diego Surf outlasted the San Diego Jaguars by the score of 2-1.

The Jaguars started off the scoring, but the Surf’s 2 goals and stingy defense were enough to guarantee a victory.

High School

On Friday, the Murrieta Hawks ran their record to 2 wins and 0 losses as they defeated the Pine Valley Pumas.
