Especially Designed for Kids and Teens

Level 1 - Introduction to Scrapbooking - Grades 1-12

This is a fun basic class, which introduces the use of color pallets, photo mats, quick and easy page designs and the basics of photo journaling. By the end of the class, the student will have completed a beautiful color coordinated 6 ½ by 6 ½ paper album. This class may be taken multiple times.
Class Fee: $25.00 Class length: 2 hours
Please bring 15 to 20 photos (no 5×7’s please!)

Level 2 – Basic Scrapbooking – Grades 3-12

This is a series of 4 classes and is perfect for both new and experienced scrapbookers. These classes introduce varied photo cropping techniques, proper ways to add memorabilia, making your album more meaningful through photo journaling, and color coordinating. By the end of the 4th class, the student should have completed a beautiful color coordinated 7 x 7 hardbound album.
Class fee: $90.00 for 4 classes. Class length: 2 hours each
Please bring 30 to 50 photos and any related memorabilia(small)

Level 3 - Scrapbooking - Grades 3-12

This is a series of 4 classes designed for the experienced scrapbooker who has completed Level 2 classes. These classes expand on cropping techniques, creating page borders and enhancements, meaningful photo journaling and uses of varied supplies. By the end of the 4th class, the student will have completed additional album pages to be added to the 7×7 album completed in the level 2 classes.
Class Fee: $80.00 for 4 classes. Class length: 2 hours each.
Please Bring 30 to 50 photos and any related memorabilia

Christmas Photo Card Class

JCS to Host Arts and Crafts Booth at San Marcos Alive on October 4

Julian Charter School will be hosting an arts and craft booth at San Marcos Alive, “Celebration of the Arts” this Sunday, October 4 from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.  The event is called, San Marcos Alive, “Celebration of the Arts.”  Some of the activities at this event will include: Fine Art, Handmade crafts, Food Vendors, Clowns, Musical Concerts, Dancers, Demonstrating Artists, Magicians & Stage Entertainment, Book Fair, Art Contests…and more! An athlete and a scholar

In the space of one very eventful year of his life, David Doehring has gone from one of San Diego’s top junior tennis players to the US Harper Ink Boys 18’s National Champion.

The 6-foot-1 Doehring is enjoying his continuing evolution as a player. Most recently he has competed in a few of his first pro futures tournaments, constantly trying to bring his game to the next level.

Doehring, 16, of Fallbrook, Ca. burst onto the tennis scene by reaching the 2006 Fallbrook boys 16’s final at ten years old and hasn’t slowed down since.

David plans on returning to junior competition this winter and spring.  David attends Julian Charter School with his last semester’s GPA of 4.0. He trains all over the county dividing his five to eight hour training day’s between multiple training facilities. He is currently ranked in the top 100 in the USA Junior Rankings.

Fitness Club for Homeschool Students in Riverside Begins on October 2

Join EF, Erin Doup-Conner and let’s get you ready for the FITNESSGRAM®.  Whether you have to participate this year or another, it is never too early to get started.  This club is mainly for 4-8 grade students who want to work on running the mile and other activities that are part of the fitnessgram.

Where: Bergamont Park

When: Friday, October 2 from 9:00 – 1O:30 a.m.

Why: To get in shape for the FITNESSGRAM

Who: Students 4 - 8 (Parents must be present)

What do I bring? A bottle of water and endurance

What should I wear? Running shoes and comfortable clothes

Erin will be focusing this on students in grades 4- 8 to prepare them for the mile run at the FITNESSGRAM®.  Younger children are welcome (there is a play area) but parents are responsible for supervision.

The group will begin with stretching exercises then walk/jog/run a mile.  Afterwards, the group will use the training course to do stretching, pull ups, push-ups and balancing.  All skill levels are welcome.

Please be advised there are no restrooms or drinking fountains at this location

My Learning Studio located in Riverside offers private tutoring starting at 26 EU’s per hour or small group tutoring at 10 EU’s per hour. Our tutors create a lesson plan for each individual. (VCI) Bethany Pappani Training Offers PE Courses With Horses

Bethany Pappani Training located at Windfall Ranch in Japatul, just minutes from I-8, is hosting physical education courses, with horses! In the “Youth Horsemanship” series, students will strengthen their minds and bodies as they learn to care for, handle, and ride horses! This 500-acre ranch allows students a wide array of opportunities, including trail riding, mounted team games, and nature experiences in the Cleveland National Forest. Every session includes a horseback riding lesson with a concentration in physical conditioning, strength, and endurance. Students will participate in fun take-home activities, increasing their physical activity in their daily lives. Come out and play at Bethany Pappani Training!

(VCI) Pich Music Studio Offering Voice and Piano Lessons

I am offering my services as a voice and piano teacher to Julian Charter School.  Anyone interested in signing up for lessons please call (619)892-2875.  I am located in Lakeside near Santee.

I am also interested in beginning a youth choir.  If your child is interested please email me at: a.pich@cox.net and I will respond once I have a good enough interest level.  Choir practices will be in Santee at Sonrise.  Time and schedule  will be determined after interest is achieved.  My hope is that the choir will give an opportunity to many to learn to sing and gain confidence for performance in a group.  Possible venues will be retirement homes, churches, school events, etc.

“Understanding Shakespeare” Online Elluminate Workshop on September 25 at 2:00 P.M.

Have you ever read a line of Shakespeare and then wondered what on earth you just read? Then this workshop is for you! Attend a short workshop called “Understanding Shakespeare”. This workshop will give helpful hints for reading and comprehending Shakespeare. The workshop will be on Friday September 25th at 2pm and will last approximately 20 minutes.
